Honours student offering assistance in writing and statistics at a rate of $20/hr. Given that PSY 233's final can be worth so very, very much, getting in touch early is always a good idea! RPC tour info

For those who said they were interested in going on the tour of the Regional Psychiatric Centre (RPC tour).

First off, thank you for waiting patiently while some details were worked out. Before you sign up, just a few reminders (PLEASE READ THROUGH CAREFULLY):

- Sign-up sheets will be located in the SPSS office - Arts 186 (you'll need to put your name, e-mail, and whether you will be a driver or passenger)

- We will have two tours that will have around 20 individuals each (this means spots may be limited, so sign up as early as you can!) Sign up no later than Friday Feb 3, 2012.

- The tours will be on TUESDAY FEBRUARY 7th, and WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 8th, (again, if you are hoping to go on a particular day, it is best to sign up early!) Exact times are still being worked out, it is likely the tours will be in the afternoon so keep that in mind.

-The tour is FREE for those with an SPSS membership (so when you sign up for the tour, bring your SPSS membership card with you!).  For those of you who were interested but do not have a membership, it is easiest if you get a membership! The cost is $10.00 and comes with several benefits (help with exams, papers, access to useful materials like textbooks and GRE prep books, occasional baking/coffee, discounts on clothing and events, In-The-Loop information sessions, etc) please drop by the SPSS office (Arts 186) to get one.

-RPC is located at 2520 Central Ave North (about 10 minute drive from University). If you sign up to be a passenger, it is never a bad idea to offer your driver a few dollars or whatever you can spare for the ride. Let's be courteous drivers & passengers folks!

-When you sign up you will also need to fill out a clearance form (for security purposes). Please fill one out at the SPSS office so we can store them safely. Note: it is just a one page form that requires information on name, birthday, address, and some physical description, and a signature)

-Once everyone has signed up, SPSS will send out another e-mail to confirm some final details on the tour.

-To ensure tour sign-up goes smoothly, let's follow these guidelines.

Thanks everyone for your patience on these matters, have a great day! If you have any questions regarding the tour, please contact SPSS at spss.info@usask.ca OR talk to/e-mail me, Rachel Tang (306) 292-9098 (SPSS office hrs: Friday 11:30am-1:30pm) (rachel.tang@usask.ca)

*I will try to be in the SPSS office as much as possible this week to get people signed up.

A Dangerous Method: Jan 24th

Hey gang,

Come see a movie with us on Cheap Tuesday - January 24th - at the Galaxy Theatre downtown! We'll meet in the lobby before the show starts (time TBA, but it will be the early evening show). Afterward join us at Winston's for discussion and fun in general.

The synopsis:
"Seduced by the challenge of an impossible case, the driven Dr. Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender) takes the unbalanced yet beautiful Sabina Spielrein (Keira Knightley) as his patient in A Dangerous Method. Jung's weapon is the method of his master, the renowned Sigmund Freud (Viggo Mortensen). Both men fall under Sabina's spell." - Sony Pictures Classics
